She was bom on April 25, 1917, in Washington County to Virgil and Grace (Singleton) Smith. Otis Waggoner later adopted her. She married Frank M. Smith on Aug. 6, 1941, in Germanville. She was raised in the Brighton area and attended country school. She was a housewife and worked as a cook in an Arkansas school for a few years. Smith, 81, formerly of Germanville, died at West Point Care Center on Feb. 6, 1999. She was bom on April 25, 1917, in Washington County to Virgil and Grace (Singleton) Smith. Otis Waggoner later adopted her. She married Frank M. Smith on Aug. 6, 1941, in Germanville. She was raised in the Brighton area and attended country school. She was a housewife and worked as a cook in an Arkansas school for a few years. She lived in Arkansas from 1970-1989, and in Stockport before moving to the care center in 1994. She was a member of Germanville Hope Lutheran Church, American Lutheran Church Women and 4-H. Survived by her husband; two daughters, Ruth Bruegge and Myma Capps.; sons, John Smith and James Smith; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Nellie Berry; and half brothers, Bill and Franklin Smith. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stockport United Methodist Church, the Rev. Reva Rimmer officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport. The family will greet friends at the church following the service at the cemetery. Family visitation will begin at IO a.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.
