Description	:	Joseph Zabka was born in Czechoslovakia March 28, 1864 and passed away October 30, 1948 at the age of 84 years, seven months and two days. In 1870 at the age of six years he came with his parents to Cedar Rapids, Ia. Five years later they moved to Colfax county and in 1886 they moved to Box Butte county, staying there seven years. Read More	Joseph Zabka was born in Czechoslovakia March 28, 1864 and passed away October 30, 1948 at the age of 84 years, seven months and two days. They returned to Colfax county where he was married to Edith Wilbur on March 4, 1888. To this union were born 13 children. Eight preceded him in death having died in infancy. Clarence who passed away in 1918, Roy in 1936 and Alice in 1938. Mrs. Zabka died June 25, 1932. In 1903 he and his family moved to Boone county to a farm near Akron where he resided until 1943. With his second wife, Martha Padden, he moved to Spalding and resided there until his death. Survivors are his four children: May Tranda of Omaha, Elmer and George of Albion and Charley of St. Edward: thirty three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; also four stepchildren, twelve step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters; Anton Zabka of Rice Lake, Wis.; Frank Zabka of Belgrade; Adolph of Dodge, Della Wilbur of Ogallala and Emma Harlow of Clarks and many other relatives and friends., After short services at the Berberich Funeral Home funeral services were held Monday Nov. 1 at the First Presbyterian church at Akron. Burial was made in the Dennison cemetery. Rev. Dr. L.W. Hanson officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Sam Michal, Ernest Meyer, Clyde Molt, Raymond Molt, Fred Buhlmann and Harry Thome.
