Description	:	TERRIBLE MURDER Joshua Dye Killed Yesterday morning Joshua Dye of Abington, in this county, came to the city on the railroad from Centerville to transact some business. After dinner, he went to Bennet's livery stable and wished to hire a rig and driver to take home home. He applied to Sol Davis, who has been at work in the stable for several years, ut Davis refused to let him have the rig, Dye not being willing to pay the price demanded. Read More	TERRIBLE MURDER Joshua Dye Killed Yesterday morning Joshua Dye of Abington, in this county, came to the city on the railroad from Centerville to transact some business. After dinner, he went to Bennet's livery stable and wished to hire a rig and driver to take home home. He applied to Sol Davis, who has been at work in the stable for several years, ut Davis refused to let him have the rig, Dye not being willing to pay the price demanded. Dye left the the stable, remarking that he would see if he could do better. He returned again, and was the refused for the same reason. At about 5 o'clock he came back again and asked for a "rig and driver to take him to Centerville>' A disagreement again took place when Dye remarked, "Davis, I have always treated you like a gentlemen, but you are treating me like son of a b--h, thief and liar." Davis retorted by calling him a d-- liar. Dye then went back where Davis was at work and said, "Davis, you must take that back. Davis, replied "I take nothing back" whereupon Dye struck at him with his fist, and Davis immediately struck him over the head with a bridle he was rolling. The bridle had a heavy straight bar bit, with large rings-Dye stooped to pick up a missile, but on attempting to rise fell back on the floor, then Davis jumped upon him and struck him eight or ten terrific blows in the face before those near him could take him off. After remaining on the floor a few minutes, one of the party went to assist him when he was terrified to find the man dead. Dr McIntyre was sent for who pronounced life extinct. Coroner Romney at large had a jury impaneled and as we go to press the investigation is in progress. Davis was arrested at once and is now in the calaboose, awaiting the action of the grand jury.
