| Description | : | Joshua was one of two sons (probably the younger) born to Joshua Morton and Mercy Howard. He served as a Private in the War of 1812. Joshua married (1st) Jerusha Bartlett Cobb on October 29, 1812. He and his first wife had seven children. He married (2nd) Mary Ann Davis on March 25, 1832 probably in Thomaston where intentions were filed on March 9. He and his 2nd wife had nine (possibly, ten) children.
