Description	:	Josiah D. Diehl was born April 19, 1878 at Osceola, Iowa, the son of Jacob & Jennie Diehl. He passed away August 25, 1971 at the Good Samaritan Home at the age of 93. On March 14, 1900 he was married to Effie Kinnison at Nelson, Nebraska. Two daughters were born to Joe and Effie. She passed away August 15, 1958. Mr. Diehl lived most of his life in the Nelson vicinity. He was baptized in 1913 in the Nelson Christian Church and was a faithful member all his life. He was an Elder for many years... Read More	Josiah D. Diehl was born April 19, 1878 at Osceola, Iowa, the son of Jacob & Jennie Diehl. He passed away August 25, 1971 at the Good Samaritan Home at the age of 93. On March 14, 1900 he was married to Effie Kinnison at Nelson, Nebraska. Two daughters were born to Joe and Effie. She passed away August 15, 1958. Mr. Diehl lived most of his life in the Nelson vicinity. He was baptized in 1913 in the Nelson Christian Church and was a faithful member all his life. He was an Elder for many years and Elder Emeritus at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one grandson, Darrell Marshall. Survivors include his daughters, Marie K. Marshall of Fairbury, Nebraska and Gladys E. Calvin of Torrington, Wyoming; one brother, Paul of Madrid, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 28, 1971 at 10 a.m. in the First Christian Church at Nelson, Nebraska. Rev. Victor Schwarz officiated. Casket bearers were Kenneth Gentry, H. Mc Adamson, Floyd Rouse, Gilbert Schukei, Arlie Nelson and Gordon Schukei. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Nebraska. Arrangements were by Klawitter Funeral Home, Nelson.
