Description	:	Daughter of Thomas and Gay (Lunning) Ostrem. Joyce was baptized in December of 1923 and confirmed in 1938 both in Centerville, South Dakota . She attended the Centerville school system, graduating in 1941 from the Centerville High School. On April 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elden P. Edman at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, S. Dakota. The couple made their home on the west coast while Elden was in the service. She attended the Centerville school system, graduating in 1941 from the Centerville High School. On April 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elden P. Edman at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, S. Dakota. The couple made their home on the west coast while Elden was in the service. In 1947, the couple moved to the Beresford and Centerville area where the couple farmed. In February of 1960, the family moved to Waverly, Iowa, where they raised their family and Joyce worked for Infelt's Variety Store and also Carnation (now Nestles) retiring following 20 years of service. Elden died on March 1, 1988, and Joyce continued to make her home in Waverly until moving to Madison, Wisconsin for a short time to be closer to family. In 2004, Joyce made her home in Waterloo at the ManorCare Health Services. Joyce was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly where she volunteered on several committees. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, working the fish fry's at the Amvets, and loved to take long walks. Most of all Joyce cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, attending all of their many activities. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elden; a son, Larry; a daughter, Sharon; two sisters, Leone, and a sister in infancy and three brothers, Bob, Clarence (Bub) and Arnie.
