Blondie was born on February 9, 1923, at Rome, Iowa the daughter of Roy and Othel Beaber Nau. She attended rural schools and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Woodrow William Wehrle on May 25, 1941, he preceded her in death on December 12, 1941 in an accident at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Park Place Elder Living Center in Mt. Pleasant. Blondie was born on February 9, 1923, at Rome, Iowa the daughter of Roy and Othel Beaber Nau. She attended rural schools and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Woodrow William Wehrle on May 25, 1941, he preceded her in death on December 12, 1941 in an accident at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. On September 7, 1947 she was united in marriage to Edward F. Gholson, he preceded her in death on November 24, 1984. Blondie worked for the B&H and the Brazelton Café, A&P, James Gars Laundry and Dry Cleaners during the war, Sheaffer Pen in Mt. Pleasant, Walker Grocery Store and retired after 24 years from Hy-Vee in Mt. Pleasant. Following her retirement she worked part time at the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge and the Mt. Pleasant V.F.W. Club. She was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Mt. Pleasant, and was a board member of the Salem Crew Public Library. Blondie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three brothers, “Doc” Nau, Merton Nau, Deane Nau and three sisters, Betty Septer, Joan Vasquez and Evelyn Nau.
