Read More	From: Mt Pleasant News, Mt Pleasant (Ia.), December 12, 1995 Albert W “Doc” Nau, Obituary Albert W. “Doc” Nau, 69, of Mt Pleasant, died at 2:25 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 1995, at Pleasant Manor Care Center, Mt Pleasant. Born June 18, 1926, southwest of Rome in Henry County, he was the son of Albert R. and Luvina O. Beaber (Shamblin) Nau. On Dec. 9, 1948, at Iowa City, He married Mary F. McBeth, who survives. He had worked for Supply Coop for several years and retired from McCallister Seed Company where he worked for over 35 years. He was member of the First United Methodist Church, Mt Pleasant, Masonic Lodge #8 and the Moose Lodge, Mt Pleasant. He was known as the “Guitar Man” and he played and sang country music with the “Fiddlin Girl”, Annie Savage, in the Midwest, particularly at Old Threshers, for about 26 years. He also performed with his son, Tom and daughter Kathy at Mt Hamill fir several years. Survivors include his wife of Mt Pleasant; his mother of Mt Pleasant; two sons, Tom of Irving, Texas, and Kevin of Rome; two daughters, Christy Nau of Mt Pleasant and Kathy Nau of Las Cruces, N.M.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother Deane of St Augustine, Fla.; four sisters, Juanita “Blondie Gholson of Salem, Deborah Cooksey of Mt Pleasant, Betty Septer of Des Moines, and Joanna Vasquez of Ft. Madison. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Merton; and one sister, Evelyn Nau. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday at the Weir Funeral Home in Mt Pleasant, with a Masonic funeral service held at 7 p.m.. Wednesday evening. The family will receive friends after the Masonic service until 8:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at 10;30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at the First United Methodist Church, Mt Pleasant. Interment will be held in the Forest Home Cemetery. The casket will remain closed according to the wishes of the family. Memorials have been established to the Mt Pleasant Community Schools String Program or restoration of the performance area of the Snipe Run Bandstand at Old Threshers.
