She was born January 20, 1925, in Cantril, Iowa, daughter of Herchel and Naomi Humphrey Nichols. She married Shannan Busby on July 24, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Ron Busby, and his wife, Karen, of Luray, Missouri; two granddaughters, Mrs. David (Dawn) Hoenig and Niki Busby, both of Kahoka, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Shannon and Cheyann Hoenig of Kahoka, Missouri; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; two sisters, Veneta Merrick of Kahoka, Missouri... Other survivors include one son, Ron Busby, and his wife, Karen, of Luray, Missouri; two granddaughters, Mrs. David (Dawn) Hoenig and Niki Busby, both of Kahoka, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Shannon and Cheyann Hoenig of Kahoka, Missouri; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; two sisters, Veneta Merrick of Kahoka, Missouri and Mrs. Delbert (Vada) Bergman of Burnside, Illinois; two brothers, Floyd Nichols and wife Betty and Lowell Nichols and his wife, Marie, all of Kahoka, Missouri. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carmon and Verlin Nichols, and one sister, Carolene, in infancy. Juanita had lived in Luray, Missouri for 31 years, moving to Kahoka one year ago. She had worked at Sheller Globe in Keokuk, Iowa for 28 years, retiring in 1987. She also volunteered at the Clark County Nursing Home. As a child, she was a member of the Nazarene Church in Milton, Iowa. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her family. She also loved playing bingo, going to Las Vegas, Nevada, and walking two miles a day. She was a member of the Missouri Longriders Saddle Club and the Ladies of the Moose. Funeral services were held August 23, 1998, at the Vigen Funeral Home in Kahoka, Missouri, with Reverend Beryl Cragg officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, rural Arbela, Missouri. Pallbearers were Doug Jones, Don Howell, Wayne Wagner, Larry Ray, Jake Wardlow, and David Hoenig. Organist was Julie Kirchner and Scottie Goben was soloist. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Moriah Cemetery or the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Memphis Democrat - August 27, 1998 ed.
