Davis, age 72, W1117 Eighth Avenue, retired farmer and banker, died yesterday morning at the family home after an illness of three weeks. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle A. Davis; two sons, Barber F. Davis and D. Mars Davis, both of Spokane, and two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Davis first came to the Spokane country in 1871 from Sparta, Wisconsin, and engaged in farming and stock raising in the vicinity of Oakesdale. Davis, age 72, W1117 Eighth Avenue, retired farmer and banker, died yesterday morning at the family home after an illness of three weeks. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle A. Davis; two sons, Barber F. Davis and D. Mars Davis, both of Spokane, and two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Davis first came to the Spokane country in 1871 from Sparta, Wisconsin, and engaged in farming and stock raising in the vicinity of Oakesdale. He retired from active business about 25 years ago and at his death was president of the First National Bank of Oakesdale. During the McKinley administration Judge Davis was postmaster of Oakesdale and was for 10 years a justice of the peace there. He owned large land interests in Oregon and Montana; Whitman, Okanogan and Spokane counties in Washington, and also in Alberta. He had been an attendant at the Central Methodist Church. Final funeral arrangements have been made, with the exception of what hour the services will be held at the Turnbull Chapel Saturday morning with the Rev. Luther N. Williams of Millwood officiating.
