He was elected to the office of county judge in the fall of '93..... ---------------------------------------- From a 1906 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Death of Judge Reid - The community was shocked Monday morning when the word came from Excelsior Springs, Mo., that T. C. Reid was dead. Last Thursday morning Mr. Reid in company with Al Wingard had gone to the Springs with the hope that the change and the water and the rest to be obtained at that retreat would be beneficial. Mr. Reid had not been a well man for a year or more, but only those who knew him best felt any apprehension for the sudden death that came to him on last Sunday evening. Mr. Reid had lived in Fullerton for twenty years and had always taken a prominent part in all that tended to the upbuilding and bettering of the community. He was twice mayor Fullerton, its city attorney a number of terms, and county Judge for eight years. He was a Mason, Odd Fellow and Woodman of the World - being council commander of the order at the time of his death.... Mr. and Mrs. Harry Williams of Cannon City, Col., arrived from the west in time to catch the train home that carried the remains. Mrs. Williams is a daughter of the deceased. Besides this daughter, he leaves a wife and little girl about five years old....[more details of funeral, and a copy of a letter Mr. Reid had written to the newspaper the morning he died describing his trip to Missouri].....
