Description	:	Death of Judge Decker After a lingering illness of two years, Judge W. T. Decker passed quietly away at his home in this city, at about 9:30 o'clock yesterday forenoon, at the age of 67 years. The immediate cause of Mr. Decker's death is attributed to dropsy, which was the culmination of the stomach trouble and consumption which which he had suffered for many months. Read More	Death of Judge Decker After a lingering illness of two years, Judge W. T. Decker passed quietly away at his home in this city, at about 9:30 o'clock yesterday forenoon, at the age of 67 years. The immediate cause of Mr. Decker's death is attributed to dropsy, which was the culmination of the stomach trouble and consumption which which he had suffered for many months. Deceased was a native of New York state, and came from a good family. In the year 1881 he emigrated, with his family, to Colorado and located at Blackburn, at that time a small railroad station on route to Canon City, and remained there until 1883 when he removed to Silver Cliff where he has since resided. Mr. Decker's residence here has gained for him an enviable reputation as a man of integrity and honesty, his word always being considered as good as his bond, and the circle of his friendship can only be measured by the number of his acquaintances. All who knew Mr. Decker regarded him in a kind way. He was a member in good standing of two of the fraternities - the Odd Fellows and the Masons - of which latter fraternity he was a Royal Arch member. Officially, he has served our people as justice of the peace, town trustee and mayor, in all of which positions he discharged his duties judiciously, creditably, with precision and honorably. While his death has long been expected, it was nevertheless a sever shock to the people of Silver Cliff. Besides a wife[Maria], he leaves two grown children - Monroe Decker and Mrs. W. J. Ryan - both of whom reside here; also four brothers, three residing in New York and one in Illinois, and a sister, Mrs. Julia A. Barry, at Mahanoy City, Pa., to mourn his departure. To the bereaved and sorrowing family and relatives the Rustler joins in extending sincere and heartfelt sympathies. The Funeral of Judge Decker will take place from the residence at 2 o'clock p.m., tomorrow, and will be conducted by the Masonic fraternity. -Silver Cliff Rustler; Dec. 5, 1900
