Description	:	Judith A. VanWinkle, 81, of Cairo, went to her heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cairo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kalaba Kapundu will officiate. Burial will be at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Cairo. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Cairo United Methodist Church. Judy was born April 5, 1940, in Omaha, the daughter of William and Ethel (Fieldman) Hlava. She graduated from Ravenna High School. On June 1, 1958, she was united in marriage to Edward Van Winkle. This union was blessed with four children: Corey, Kirby, Kelly and Edward. The family farmed southwest of Cairo. Judy was employed by the Cairo Record for many years. Later in life she received her registered nursing degree from Kearney State College. Judy worked as a nurse for care homes and retired from St. Francis Medical Center following 15 years of service. She loved her involvement with her family, working as a bookkeeper for their family businesses. Her memberships included the Cairo United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She served on the committee for the Cairo Veterans Memorial. Judy and her husband, Ed, enjoyed traveling and antiquing and had a great love of supporting their community. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Corey (Natalie) Van Winkle, Kirby (Kayla) Van Winkle, Kelly Van Winkle and Edward Van Winkle; five grandchildren, Jason, Randi, Eddie, Brad and Jayden; her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan, Camille, Lilly and Wynter; a nephew, Frank Hochstetler; and a niece, Karen (Bob) Lamb. In addition to her husband, Edward, who died Feb. 26, 2014, she was preceded in death by her parents and beloved aunts and uncles.
