Description	:	JUDITH GAY BLICKENSTAFF BUSSARD, 90, of Boonsboro, MD, and formally of Hagerstown, MD, was ushered into the presence of Jesus, her Savior, on Saturday, June 21, 2014 surrounded in her daughters' loving arms. Born January 24, 1924, in Wolfsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. Blickenstaff and M. Rebecca (Kline) Blickenstaff. She was the youngest of 9 children, who all predeceased her including brothers, Toncilla, Harold, Samuel, Harry and Hugh; sisters, Mary Moser, Loretta Himes and Pauline Wolf. Born January 24, 1924, in Wolfsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. Blickenstaff and M. Rebecca (Kline) Blickenstaff. She was the youngest of 9 children, who all predeceased her including brothers, Toncilla, Harold, Samuel, Harry and Hugh; sisters, Mary Moser, Loretta Himes and Pauline Wolf. As a young woman, she worked at the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, MD. During World War II, she worked at Fairchild Aircraft Inc. as "Rosie the Riveter". She continued her working career as a dedicated and compassionate nursing assistant, retiring from the former Washington County Hospital after 19 years of service. She married George C. Bussard May 30, 1942 who preceded her in death in 2003 after 61 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters, C. Susie Funk of Boonsboro, MD, and Georgia Kay Woodring of Reynoldsburg, OH. We were so blessed to have had such a wonderful, selfless, generous example of what a Mother is. Judith's family was her life and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her, including grandchildren, Mark Woodring and wife Jennifer of London, OH, David Woodring and wife Abby of Kirkersville, OH; Great grandchildren, Justin Hoover and wife Erica, Jared Hoover and Lissy, and Jacob Hoover all of Hagerstown, MD, and Olivia Woodring of London, OH; Great-great grandchildren Makayla and Blake Hoover of Hagerstown, MD; and granddaughter-in-law Missy Hoover Smith. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, formerly Grace Brethren Church. Her faith and trust in Christ her Savior carried her through difficult times in her life, including her recent illness. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She gave unselfishly from her heart. She was a beautiful woman from the inside out. Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD with Pastor Mike Richards officiating. Place of burial will be Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middletown, MD. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 25 from 6-8pm. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Washington County for all the help and support we received during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Judith's honor be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
