Description	:	Judith Jeanne Moeller, 65 of Houghton, died unexpectedly at 7:29 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. She was born Nov. 30, 1941 in Fort Madison, a daughter of John and Eleanor (Rueter) Mertens. On May 4, 1963, she married Eugene Henry "Mick" Moeller at St. John's Church in Houghton. Read More	Judith Jeanne Moeller, 65 of Houghton, died unexpectedly at 7:29 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. She was born Nov. 30, 1941 in Fort Madison, a daughter of John and Eleanor (Rueter) Mertens. On May 4, 1963, she married Eugene Henry "Mick" Moeller at St. John's Church in Houghton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 2006. She first worked as a bookkeeper for Mount Hamill Elevator. Later she worked as the City Clerk for Houghton and babysat out of her home. For many years she helped her husband with their family hog buying station, J.G. Foecke and Company. For the past 12 years, she worked for Staats Custom Award in Mount Pleasant. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, Houghton and the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include one son, Terry "Buster" and his wife Liz Moeller of West Point; three daughters, Pam and her husband Wade Kahler of Cambridge, Patrice "Tessy" and her husband Bryan Bredemeyer of Bonaparte and Michelle "Shelly" and her husband Randy Moeller of Muscatine; two brothers Joe Mertens, of Farmington; Gerald and his wife Dorothy Mertens of Donnellson; four sisters, Vera Carney of West Point, Eileen Wheeler of West Point, Audrey and her husband Henry Holtkamp of West Point and Vivian and her husband Robert Stuekerjuergen, of West Point.; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the St. John's Catholic Church, Houghton, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, with a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20 at the St. John's Catholic Church, Houghton, with Rev. Gary Beckman as celebrant. Burial will be at the St. John's Cemetery, Houghton. A memorial has been established for St. John's Catholic Church and the Houghton Community Club. Contributions may be made at the church during the services or at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
