Description	:	Judith “Judy” M. Kuch, 79 died Monday, July 30, 2018 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. David Lingard officiating. Interment will be in the Keystone Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Andrew Missionaries. Judy was born November 29, 1938 in Vinton to Herman Conrad and Mildred Matilda (Fry) Brehm. She was baptized on June 23, 1940 in Van Horne. Judy graduated from Van Horne High School She received her Teaching Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Judy was united in marriage to Donald A.E. Kuch on August 12, 1962 in Van Horne. She was later confirmed on April 3, 1967. Judy was a second-grade teacher at Keystone Elementary for many years and later worked as a teacher at Kindercare in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne where she taught Sunday School. In her leisure she enjoyed knitting and sewing. Judy is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Marc (Kim) Kuch, Terry Kuch, Lori (Chandler) Woodward, Pamela (Rand) Hartman; her grandchildren, Syrena, Meghan, Ryder, Nathen and Olivia; her step-grandchildren, Brad Campbell, Mallory Daily, Alison Mundt, Karleigh Miller, Mackenzie Miller, Hannah Miller, Eli Miller; her step great grandchildren, Colin, Kenley and Brinley Campbell, Brielle and Calvin Daily and Harper Mundt; her three sister, Bonita Wilson, Lynda Hachmann, Evelyn (Larry) Wiebke; her brother, Joe (Marlys) Brehm and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law, Dick Hachmann and Bill Wilson and two grandchildren, Eli and Trusten Woodward. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center, Home Instead and Unity Pointe Hospice for the loving care they gave to Judy. Phillips Funeral Home – Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
