Description	:	Judy Rae Scott, 55, of Miller, S.D., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998 at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998 at the First United Methodist church in Miller with the Rev. Richard Gould and th Rev. Gene Cannon officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery. Judy Rae Yost was born November 3, 1942 in Miller, S.D., the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Campbell) Yost. She attended elementary school in Mondamin Township in South Hand County. She began high school in Miller and completed her education through correspondence from the American Correspondence School of Chicago, Ill. She completed cosmetology certification in Salina, Kan. She married Henry Merle Scott on September 1, 1964. They traveled the United States before establishing their home in the Chicago, Ill. area. She raised her family while she managed a home day care. She moved back to Miller in September of 1993. She continued showing her love of youth in this area by sharing her home with the friends of her family. She took certified nursing assistant training and worked at Prairie Good Samaritan Center transferring to Highmore Healthcare Center where she was working until her surgery for cancer in May. She loved country music playing guitar and singing for many events beginning in her teenage years. She will be remembered for her faith, spirit and determination. Survivors include three children, Charles Evan (Georgianna) Scott of Elgin, Ill., Pamela Rae Scott of Miller and Patrick Henry Scott of Watertown; two grandchildren, Victoria Lyn Scott of Elgin, Ill. and Kellie Adriana Scott of Miller; one brother, Lawrence (Beverly) Yost of Miler; three sisters, Lenore Yost of Clay Center, Kan., Joyce (Robert) Meyer of Miller and JoAnne Ledford of Coal City, Ill.; and several very special nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an older brother in infancy, Clarence Jr.; a brother-in-law, George Ledford; and a nephew, Justin George Hargens. Pallbearers were Paul Meyer, Randy Peck, Ryan Yost, Dennis Yost, Kevin Werdel and Jim Aalbers.
