RITTER KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT Jule Edward Ritter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ritter of Steffenville and a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ritter of Shelbyville, was instantly killed at about 7 o'clock Monday evening, when the automobile he and a companion were riding, near Braman, Okla., skidded and turned over. Word was received by relatives here yesterday morning but no details, other than the above, of the accident have as yet reached here. It seems that Ritter and his companion, who was badly hurt, were returning from a neighboring town when the car in some manner skidded and turned completely over, presumably pinning or otherwise rendering fatal and instantaneous injuries. He had been in Oklahoma for the past year and was employed by the Comer Oil Co. He was 23 years old and was born on a farm near Lentner Nov. 11, 1903. In addition to the parents named above, he is survived by his wife and three brothers, the latter at the home in Steffenville. No arrangements for the funeral will be made until after the arrival of the remains here, which probably will be Saturday or Sunday. The father, accompanied by E. P. Thompson, left here yesterday morning, by motor, and will bring the body back with them. Shelby County Herald, Shelbyville, Missouri, June 01, 1927 OBITUARY. Jule Edward Ritter, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ritter, was born November 11th, 1903, and died May 30, 1927. He leaves to mourn his loss a sorrowing father and mother, three brothers, grandparents and many other relatives and friends. Jule's friends were many and he was liked by everyone. Why one so young in life and full of bright promise should be called so early we cannot understand. Yet how like a flower is life! As they are plucked while they are in full bloom and beauty, so the Father gathers us into the fold, some at eventide. Yet we know that God is good, and from him cometh no evil. I know not why, but in that land, Where all is bright, we'll understand. I know not why our songs are hushed And teardrops fall instead of mirth.
