Hiner, which occurred at the home of her son, Richard A. Hiner, at Battle Creek, Nebr., that day. The body, accompanied by a grandson, arrived here Tuesday noon for funeral services and burial Wednesday. Mrs. Hiner was born in this vicinity and has many relatives and friends here. For many years she has made her home elsewhere. Obituary Julia A. Nowels, daughter of John and Martha Nowels, was born in Appanoose county, Iowa, February 27, 1856 and departed this life at the home of her son, Richard A. Hiner at Battle Creek, Nebraska, July 9, 1934, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 12 days. She was married to Fletcher Hiner August 6, 1872. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Richard of Battle Creek, Nebraska; John of Little River, Kansas; and Cora, who preceded her in death September 26, 1904. Her husband preceded her in death, March 7, 1910. She is preceded in death by four brothers, two of which died in the Civil War, and three sisters. She also has two brothers and two sisters living. She leaves to mourn her loss the two sons, sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren with many relatives and friends. She was converted to Christ in early life and of late years was affiliated with the Wesleyan Methodist church at Miltonvale, Kansas. She was a wholehearted Christian and a devoted wife and mother. Funeral services were conducted from the Moravia United Brethren church Wednesday afternoon, July 11 at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Hall Swaim. Burial was made in the Salem Cemetery.
