Description	:	Mrs. Julia Ann Swartz Babb, widow of Samuel Babb and former resident of this county, died Wednesday morning, February 16, at the home of her son, E. W. Babb, near Maryville, Missouri, after an illness of six weeks of paralysis. The remains were taken to Coburg, accompanied by her sons, E. W. and Amos Babb and by her daughter Mrs. W. S. Woods. The funeral was held from the Coburg Church Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. Baker. Interment was in the Franklin Grove Cemetery. The funeral was held from the Coburg Church Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. Baker. Interment was in the Franklin Grove Cemetery. The pall bearers were Julius Beeson, A. L. Burr, Frank Beeson, Allen McDewitt, C. Copenhaver, and Eli Resh. Among those in attendance from the city were Mr. and Mrs. Jonn Flood, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Flood, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Stafford, Miss Ellen Stafford, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beeson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Beeson, Mrs. Levi Barnett, Mrs. Frank Draves, and A. M. Burris. Mrs. Babb, whose maiden name was Miss Julia Ann Swartz, was born in Highland County, Ohio, February 1, 1840. At the age of fourteen years, she came to Chariton, Iowa, and later to Albia, where she was married to Samuel M. Babb, October 13, 1861. Mr. and Mrs. Babb came to Montgomery County in 1865 living there until 1093 when they moved to Maryville, Missouri. Mr. Babb died August 9, 1907. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Babb, four dying in childhood. The surviving children are Amos F. and E. W. Babb of Maryville, Missouri, Mrs. Alice O. Flood, wife of Jonn Flood, of Red Oak, and Mrs. Jennie B. Woods, wife of W. S. Woods of Maryville, Missouri, all of whom were by her bedside during her last hours. Held in high esteem by all who knew her, Mrs. Babb was endowed with that gentleness and refinement nature that sheds its influence on all those who come in contact with such lives. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church and lived a faithful Christian life.
