Read More	Boone County Democrat November 10, 1911 Mrs. Peter McGlynn, one of the oldest residents in the city, passed peacefully away at her home, 1313 Marshall street, on Wednesday morning at 2:30 o’clock as a result of a paralytic stroke received on the Monday morning previous. The deceased had been in poor health for years but was able to get around most of the time. For years and since the death of her husband, the late Peter McGlynn, who died seven years ago last month, she has lived alone with her daughter, Miss Julia, who has always been faithful and attentive to her aged mother. At her bedside when she died were all of her children and she was conscious almost to the last. The funeral will be held this Friday morning at 9:00 o’clock from the Church of the Sacred Heart. Requiem high mass will be celebrated by Father J.P. Barron and the remains will be laid away to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. McGlynn, nee Miss Julia Daily, was born in the city of Dublin, Ireland, March 31, 1829, and was in her eighty third year at the time of her death. When a child she came to this country and in New York City on April 22, 1851, she was united in marriage to Peter McGlynn. Shortly afterwards they removed to La Salle, Illinois, and in 1859 they came farther west and settled in Clinton county, Iowa. This was their home until the spring of 1866 when they removed to Boone county and settled on the old homestead in Jackson township. About sixteen or seventeen years ago they removed to this city and since that time she has resided here continuously. On October 14, 1904 Mr. McGlynn died and ever since, as she had been for years before, Miss Julia has constantly cared for her aged and feeble mother. To Mr. and Mrs. Peter McGlynn were born eight children five sons and three daughters, three of whom died in infancy, Edward, Thomas and William. The surviving children, all of whom were present at her deathbed, are Mrs. Fred Mott of this city, John of Hamilton county, near Stanhope, Peter of Jackson township, Mrs. Margaret Blunk of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Julia at home. The deceased was a most lovable old lady who ever had a kind word for all. She was a devoted member of her church and ever attentive to her religious duties. The children have the sincere sympathy of the community in the death of their mother.
