Read More	Julia Olsdatter Fundaun was born on her parents’ homestead southeast of Baltic, Minnehaha County, Dakota Territory on Monday, February 11, 1889 to parents Ole and Ingeborg (Krogstad) Fundaun, who were both immigrants from Norway. Julia was baptized on March 16, 1889 by Rev. O. O. Sando and confirmed on June 26, 1904 by Rev. N. N. Boe, both events in the Old Nidaros Lutheran Church when it was south of Baltic. Julia attended the Moen Country School, one mile east of the Fundaun homestead. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th year, (11:00 a.m., January 11th, 1911), Julia was married to Martin O. Erickson at her parents’ home southeast of Baltic. Rev. N. N. Boe of the Nidaros Church performed the wedding. Martin and Julia moved onto the farm (Martin's father's tree claim) in Orland Township of Lake County which Martin had acquired from his mother and on which he built a new house and barn. In the fall of 1919, Martin and Julia moved back to Baltic and bought Julia’s parents’ homestead after her parents’ deaths. They continued to farm this until 1943, when they moved into Baltic where Martin owned and operated the blacksmith shop until his retirement at age 82 in 1962. Julia worked in the Dybvig Tree Nursery of Baltic for several years. Julia always took special interest in her yard and flowers both inside and outside her home. Martin and Julia were active members of the East Nidaros Lutheran Church (located in the same section as the Fundaun homestead) until they moved into Baltic when they were members of the Baltic Lutheran Church, both churches part of the Nidaros parish. Martin and Julia had two children: Inez Olivia Erickson (Mrs. Henry M. Johnson) and Orlando Fundaun Erickson (married to Lorraine M. Carson). Martin passed away at his home in Baltic, on Sunday morning, October 5, 1969, at the age of 89 years, 2 months, 16 days. Julia passed away in the Dell Rapids Hospital on Friday morning, June 23, 1972 at the age of 83 years, 4 months, 12 days. Her funeral was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 1972 at Baltic Lutheran Church. She was interred in the East Nidaros Lutheran Cemetery.
