Abbott, 91, of Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester, died at 9:10pm, Thursday, June 30, 2005. She was born July 24, 1913 in Wabash County, Indiana to Lewis and Marie (Peters) Overholser. She married Paul D. Abbott September 25, 1934 in Goshen, Indiana; he died December 23, 1991. A 1931 graduate of North Manchester's Central High School, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Town & Country Club, American Legion Auxilliary, and Women of the Moose, all of North Manchester. She was a dispatcher of the mini bus for the Wabash County Council on Aging, worked at House of Eve clothing store of North Manchester, and was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Margene (Jack)Lybarger, Jane Ann (Tom) Airgood, and Mary Beth (Jon) Perkins, all of North Manchester; son Ted Abbott of Weeki Wachee, Florida; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, a step-great-grandson, four sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel of North Manchester on Sunday, July 3, at 2pm with Pastor Karen Eberly officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery of North Manchester. Friends may call Saturday afternoon from 2-8pm. The preferred memorial for Mrs. Abbott is either Zion Lutheran Organ Fund or Timbercrest Retirement Community.
