Description	:	Julia Irene Stoddard was the third child born to Kelsey Barnes Stoddard and Lillie Luella (Ervin) Stoddard. At the time of her birth, 4 April 1888, her parents and two siblings lived on the family farm in section 5 of Middleton Township northeast of Hurley, Turner County, South Dakota. She attended country school, probably District 21, until the family moved to Parker in 1903. After that move, she attended the public school in Parker. Read More	Julia Irene Stoddard was the third child born to Kelsey Barnes Stoddard and Lillie Luella (Ervin) Stoddard. At the time of her birth, 4 April 1888, her parents and two siblings lived on the family farm in section 5 of Middleton Township northeast of Hurley, Turner County, South Dakota. She attended country school, probably District 21, until the family moved to Parker in 1903. After that move, she attended the public school in Parker. After graduating from Parker high school, she joined her older sister, Jennie, in Denver Colorado. There she attended the Denver Conservatory of Music, majoring in voice and piano. She met her future husband, Louis Henry Perry, in the choir at the Congregational Church in Denver. They married in Parker, South Dakota, on 1 October 1913, and had two sons, Louis Barnes Perry and Richard Stoddard Perry. Louis Henry Perry worked many years in administration for a coal company (probably the Crescent Coal Company) first in Denver, then Gibson/Gallop, New Mexico, then San Francisco, California. His brother, James, who had a restaurant in Los Angeles, encouraged him to go into the restaurant business. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1914, and Louis opened a restaurant. The business was a success; he had as many as four restaurants at one time in the downtown Los Angeles area. He retired in 1955 after selling his last two restaurants. Julia was first and foremost a home maker, but taught piano for thirty five years. She, herself, never worked in the family restaurant business. Louis Henry died 7 May 1964 and Julia Irene died 16 May 1975. They are buried in the Rosehill cemetery northwest of Parker, South Dakota.
