She had been in poor health for the past year and passed away at her home on November 16, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 16 days. Mrs Julia Leite Gruseth was born in Goodhue County, Minnesota April 1, 1869. She came with her parents to Brookings County, Dakota Territory, in 1883. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Minnesota and confirmed by Rev. Borge at Volga SD. On December 1 1891 she was united in marriage to John Gruseth of Naples SD. They lived in Clark County for four years where they were active members of the Pleasant Lutheran church. They then moved to a farm west of Volga which has since been her home. In 1941, with all their children and grandchildren present, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. She belonged to the First Lutheran church of Volga and was a member of the Lutheran Ladies' Aid, being made a life member of the organization in 1941. She is survived by her husband and four children, Clarence, John Jr., and Mrs Gladys Lund of Volga, SD, and Mrs. Clara Ermish of Cicero, IL. One daughter, Alma Parker, preceded her in death February 14, 1943. Also surviving are three brothers, Nels, Gust and John Leite, all of Volga, two sisters, Mrs. Christie Strand, of Volga and Mrs Peter Donea of St Paul, Minn.; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
