Other communities she had lived in were Central City, Neb., in Kansas, Modesto, Calif., and Gainesville, Mo. She was a cook at hotels, restaurants and schools. June 24, 1919, she was married to Elmer Norwood at Grand Island. She was baptized in the Oak Community Church July 16, 1978, by the Rev, Rena Ouding and the Rev. James Garmon. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Elmer, June 5, 1982; and a brother, Clements Ourada. She is survived by her daughter, Marguerite Brackin, Nelson son, Alfred Norwood, Modesto, Calif,; a step-daughter, Bernice Barnes, Oakdale, Calif,; two brothers, Edward Ourada of Sun City, Ariz., and David Ourada of Venango, Neb.; two sisters, Lillian Norwood of Oakdale, Calif., and Mrs. Carl Holtorf (Anna) of Grant, Neb.; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. She passed away on February 2, 1991, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 92 years, one month and 20 days. She had been making her home in Nelson at the time of her death. Other communities she had lived in were central city, Nebraska, Modesto, California, Gainesville, Missouri and Kansas she was a cook at hotels, restaurants and schools. She was married to Elmer Norwood on June 24, 1919 at Grand Island, Nebraska. Julia was baptized in the Oak Community Church on July 16, 1978, by Rev. Rena Ouding and Rev. James Garmon. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Elmer, on June 5, 1982; and a brother, Clements Ourada. Survivors include her daughter Marguerite Brackin of Nelson; a son, Alfred Norwood and his wife Alice of Modesto, California; a step-daughter, Bernice Barnes of Oakdale, California; two brothers, Edward Ourada and his wife Laura of Sun City, Arizona and David Ourada of Venango, Nebraska; two sisters, Lillian Norwood of Oakdale, California, and Anna Holtorf and her husband Carl of Grant; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 1991, at the Klawitter-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Nelson with the Rev. Dale Bussinger officiating. Music was provided by our Ferdinand James Hanson singing duets of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden" with Cloma Corman as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Anthony Gerard, Arlan Drudik, Dale Adamson, Howard Olson, James Menke and Royce Schott. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery.
