The most expert medical attention has been baffled for two years by an unrelenting case of tuberculosis. Up to early in October she resisted cheerfully and stubbornly her approaching crisis, but seeing then that she could hold our no more, she went to bed and prayed that the time might be hastened. Julia May Lewis was born may 2nd, 1878 and became Mrs. Jenrette August 2nd, 1893, and died December 31st, 1910. She joined the Methodist Church at Poplar when quite young, but later united herself with the Maple Baptist Church where her membership remained until her death. Before her death she had outlined a schedule for the funeral services which were to be conducted at the home. The 25th Psalm was to be read and the hymns, "It is Well With My Soul, and "In the Sweet By and By," were to be sang, all of which was done. In the course of Dr. Langston's remarks he expressed the utmost confidence in seeing her in a better world. The esteem in which she was held as a neighbor can best judged by the large crowd which attended her burial at Lakeside Cemetery, and that regardless of the winter rain.
