Description	:	On Oct. 17, 1934, in Deer Lodge, Montana, a feisty young lady entered the world. She was named Julia Rose Kimerly, known as Rose to everyone around her. A middle child with 11 siblings, she lived her early years the same way she did her later years — with passion and fire. On Aug. 29, 1953, she married Alex Thomas LaTray Sr., in a small ceremony in Butte, Montana. They traveled all across Montana with Alex’s job as an operating engineer, before finally settling in Anaconda. She was named Julia Rose Kimerly, known as Rose to everyone around her. A middle child with 11 siblings, she lived her early years the same way she did her later years — with passion and fire. On Aug. 29, 1953, she married Alex Thomas LaTray Sr., in a small ceremony in Butte, Montana. They traveled all across Montana with Alex’s job as an operating engineer, before finally settling in Anaconda. Rose enjoyed Native American culture, and loved to look for arrowheads in the Mill Creek area. She also painted when she could. She loved old westerns, and even dabbled with farm life, but ironically, thought horses were best enjoyed when they were on TV. She loved her pets, and was incredibly passionate about the University of Montana Grizzlies. She worked at Fort Harrison and Warm Springs as a CNA, and enjoyed bringing comfort and healing to those around her. Even after she quit working, she often opened her home and her life to those who needed it most around her. Most of all, though, Rose was passionate about her family, and her ever increasing brood of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved mornings, quietly contemplating the sunrise, drinking coffee and stoking the fire, before the frenzy of the morning began. She believed that each of us should live life to the fullest, and experience all that we can. She guided each and every one of the members of her family, with her words and her sense of humor, in some way. On Jan. 4, 2016, Rose made her final journey into the light. She is survived by her two brothers, Herbert and Howard; her six children and their spouses, Alex “Cubby” LaTray, Robert (and Danette) LaTray, Cheryl Erickson, Steve (and Donna) LaTray, Marvin LaTray, and Billie (and Bill) Reich; her 16 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Kimerly and Bessie Jean (Seter); her brothers and sisters, Betty, Ida, Darlene, Evelyn, George II, Henry, William, Annie, and Ethel; her husband, Alex Sr., and her grandson, Nathan. In accordance with her requests, cremation has taken place at Butte Crematories. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Gateway Fellowship Church in Anaconda with Pastor Phil Masters officiating.
