Description	:	Juliaetta Olney Prosser Funeral Home PROSSER - Juliaetta O. Olney, age 101 of Prosser, entered into rest on February 22, 2005 at her home in Prosser. She was born on March 28, 1903 in Green Creek, Idaho to Hampton and Nettie (Shields) Ford. She married Edward N. Olney on August 31, 1921 in Hampton, Iowa. In 1931 they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where they farmed. The family moved to Prosser in 1941 where they also farmed. Read More	Juliaetta Olney Prosser Funeral Home PROSSER - Juliaetta O. Olney, age 101 of Prosser, entered into rest on February 22, 2005 at her home in Prosser. She was born on March 28, 1903 in Green Creek, Idaho to Hampton and Nettie (Shields) Ford. She married Edward N. Olney on August 31, 1921 in Hampton, Iowa. In 1931 they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where they farmed. The family moved to Prosser in 1941 where they also farmed. In 1945 they started Olneys' Furniture which they owned and operated with their children. She retired at the age of 95 when they closed the store in 1998, after 50 years of business. Julia enjoyed sewing and was talented seamstress. She was also a wonderful cook and an entertaining and amusing story teller. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Julia is survived by her daughter, Leota Olney of Prosser; granddaughters, Kitty Kay Olney of Wasilla, Alaska, Diana Pickens of Portland, Oregon and Patricia Helton and husband Tom of Kennewick; 7 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edward in 1986; her son, Forrest E. Olney in 2002; and daughter-in-law Cathryn in 1976. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Prosser Funeral Home. Graveside services for Julia will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Prosser Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church in Prosser. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Prosser Funeral Home. Obituary notice added by Michele Ball.
