Description	:	Evening Kansan December 9, 1919. Julian H. Brown was born in Meade county, Kentucky, August 21, 1857, being the eldest of of eight children. He moved with his parents to Henderson county, Illinois, in April 1865, where lived to manhood. He was married to Anna black of Osceola, Iowa, December 2, 1879. They moved to Harvey county in the fall of 1880, locating on a farm about eight miles south of Newton. Brown was born in Meade county, Kentucky, August 21, 1857, being the eldest of of eight children. He moved with his parents to Henderson county, Illinois, in April 1865, where lived to manhood. He was married to Anna black of Osceola, Iowa, December 2, 1879. They moved to Harvey county in the fall of 1880, locating on a farm about eight miles south of Newton. In 1894 they moved to the farm he now owns, four miles east of Newton, where they resided until in August 1907, when they came to Newton, locating at 425 East Fourth St., the present home. To this union were born six children, five of whom remain to mourn his departure, one son Charlie, having passed away in May 1910. Those living are: Mrs. Charles Ryan and Alva L. Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mrs. O. S. Hays of Pueblo, Colorado, Glenn E. of Wichita, and Gladys M. at home. There are two brothers and four sisters living. W. E. and W. F. of Newton, Kansas, Mrs. George Harvey of Haviland, Kansas, Mrs. J. W. Phillips south of Newton, Mrs. Janie Karr and Minnie Brown of Newton, Kansas. His wife departed this life the 11th day of July 1915. On April 30, 1917 he was married to Mrs. Mollie Bierschback of Newton, who survives with the children to morn the loss of a kind and loving father. He died following an operation, Dec. 6, 1919. Aged 62 years 3 months and 15 days. He suffered intensely but uncomplainingly trust in his makers promise, "Come unto me and I will give you rest."
