Description	:	Julius Fred Gausman, son of Henry and Anna C. Krumwiede Gausman, was born Sept. 28, 1902, at Hildreth and died Oct. 4, 1993, at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 91. He graduated from Chester High School in 1922, then moved to Hubbell in February of 1923 to work in the grocery store. He was united in marriage to Rosa Young on Sept. 23, 1925, and to this union five children were born: Leona, Robert, Maxine, Max and JoAnn. He graduated from Chester High School in 1922, then moved to Hubbell in February of 1923 to work in the grocery store. He was united in marriage to Rosa Young on Sept. 23, 1925, and to this union five children were born: Leona, Robert, Maxine, Max and JoAnn. He was postmaster in Hubbell from May 1933 until January 1944 when he moved to Chester to be a rural mail carrier. He retired in July of 1972. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chester. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge of Chester, Fraternal Order of Eagles #3281 of Belleville, Kan., National Rural Carriers association and a former member of Elks Lodge of Fairbury. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosa Gausman; one great-granddaughter, Jill; and one brother, William. He is survived by three daughters, Leona Miller and husband Gerald of Lincoln, Maxine Moxham of Newark, Calif. and Kittie JoAnn Elwell and husband Donald of Lincoln; two sons, Robert Gausman and wife Phyllis of Fairbury and Max Gausman and wife Roberta of Chester; 15 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Connie Snider, Dr. Thomas J. Thrasher, Wayne Thrasher, Julie Liewer, Joni Backer, Jeff Gausman, Gregg and Steven Moxham, Randal, Michael and Russell Gausman, Rebecca Griffin, Mona Lee Yardley, Glen and Joel Elwell, David and Mark Miller, step-grandsons, 23 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, one brother, Homer Gausman and wife Marjory, Omaha; two sisters, Edith Osterbuhr and husband Dale of Neodesha, Kan. and Berniece McNeice and husband Jack of Fallbrook, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mrs. William Gausman, Neodesha, Kan.; brothers-in-law, Jessie Young and wife Afton of Hubbell and Ray Young of Hubbell; nieces, nephews and friends. Services were held Oct. 8 at the United Methodist Church in Chester conducted by the Reverend Cato Sims. Music was by Mrs. Michael Tipton, soloist, with Mrs. Dolan Frye, organist. Casket bearers were Dr. Thomas J. Thrasher, Russell Gausman, Wayne Thrasher, Michael Gausman, Joel Elwell and Jeff Gausman. Honorary casket bearers were Randall Gausman, Gregg Moxham, Steven Moxham, Pat Boyer, Reuben Schleifer, Glenn Elwell, David Miller, Mark Miller, Bill Moore and Roland Grueber. Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home of Chester was in charge of arrangements.
