| Description | : | He was born in Posen, Germany. He emigrated in 1867 to America. He was naturalized in 1875. He Served in the Prussian Army from 1864 to 1866 and deserted to emigrated to America. He had received Blacksmith training in Germany prior to coming to America. The skill proved to be a much need addition to the pioneer Dutch community in Lancaster County, Nebraska. Prior to his arriving little maintenance was done on farm equipment.
