Description	:	The Derk Liesveld family relocated from New York to Grand Rapids, Michigan and remained there a short while. Their next move was to Zealand, Michigan where Dirk opened a shoe shop and operated it for nine months with continued success as a boot and shoemaker. Mary was born here. As an infant she moved with the family to Fulton, Illinois where her father was engaged in the dairy business for nine months. The next move was to Rockville, Wisconsin were they lived for 10 years and then relocated to Chenoa,Illinois and lived there four years. The family then relocated to a farm about seven miles south of Hasting, Mills County, Iowa. Her father Derk Liesveld died here, he was 55 years of age at the time of his death on August 21, 1875. Prior to his death he purchased 200 acres of land in South Pass precinct, Lancaster County near Holland, Nebraska. While living in Hastings,Iowa she met Julius Gustav Bade, they were married in 1873. Their first child, Amelia, was born here. He had received Blacksmith training in Germany prior to coming to America. He practices his trade there until they relocated with her mother to Holland, Nebraska in 1878. Her mother, Martha Liesveld, wanted to live near her oldest son Herman who had relocated to the land his father had purchased near Holland, Nebraska. Julius practiced his trade as a blacksmith in the Holland / Panama area. Julius and Mary lived in Panama, Nebraska for the remainder of their lives.
