Description	:	June Lee Anderson, 65, of rural Elgin, Iowa, died Wednesday April 4, 2001 from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Fayette, Iowa. She was born June 6, 1935 in Iowa City, IA, the youngest of ten children, to Harry and Delta (Mathys) Miller. She attended various country schools including Rolling Green and Dorman and graduated from West Union High School in 1953. She held various jobs after high school including babysitting, clerk at the variety store, and the lunch counter at Woolworths in Oelwein. She was born June 6, 1935 in Iowa City, IA, the youngest of ten children, to Harry and Delta (Mathys) Miller. She attended various country schools including Rolling Green and Dorman and graduated from West Union High School in 1953. She held various jobs after high school including babysitting, clerk at the variety store, and the lunch counter at Woolworths in Oelwein. June was united in marriage to Merle Anderson on September 20, 1959, at the First Baptist Church in West Union. To children were born from this union. After her marriage she worked various jobs part-time along with helping on the farm. When her son Eric was old enough to help on the farm, June began working at Atwood in May of 1977 until retiring due to her health in February of 1994. A back injury made it difficult for June to take walks or go shopping, so she spent much of her time at home. They spent their married life on the farm where Merle moved to in 1936. June was active in the First Baptist Church including church clerk and pianist. Survivors include her husband, Merle of Elgin; her son Eric and his wife Christina of West Union; three sisters, Margaret Gage of Fayette, Violet Hangartner of Postville, and Doris Handgarner of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Clarence Miller of Donna, TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She really enjoyed visits from her great-great-niece, Alex Crawford. June was preceded in death by her daughter, Edie in 1967; her parents; sisters, Cora La Von in 1926; Gertrude in 1968; Shirley in 1993; and Gladys in 1994; and a brother, Clifton Miller in 1975. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7, 2001 at First Baptist Church in West Union with Dr. Lawrence Williams officiating. Interment was at Elgin Cemetery in Elgin, Iowa. Honorary casket bearers were Charlene Barfels, Marsha Crawford, Allison Beckner, Alexandria Crawford, Krista Twite, Lindsey Twite, Angela Crawford, Marie Germann.
