Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara" The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 16 April 1941 Old Time Stockman Answers Final Call Jurgen Engellant, old time stockman and farmer of the Geraldine section, passed away at the St. Clare hospital on last Wednesday, April 9, following an illness extending over quite a long period. He had been in rather poor health for the past five months and was brought to the local hospital three or four months ago in the hope of improving his health. He apparently was improved following the operations, but a few days ago suffered a stroke of paralysis and his condition grew critical and the end came on Wednesday evening. Jurgen Engellant had been a resident of Chouteau county and the Geraldine section for the past 43 years, during which time he engaged in the livestock business and in farming. He was well known in this county, having served as county commissioner from 1913 to 1914, and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was born in Schleswig, Germany, on June 20, 1871, and was nearly 70 years of age. He came to the United States when he was about ten years of age and located in western Iowa, where he resided until coming to Montana and this county in 1898. He was united in marriage to Augusta Sommer in Fort Benton on Jan. 21, 1901, and to this union were born two sons, John and George, who reside at Geraldine. He leaves to mourn his passing the wife and two sons, and the following brothers and sisters: Hans and Herman Engellant, of Geraldine; Detlaff, Henry, Frances, Helen, Margarette and Katherine, all of Germany. He is also survived by two grandchildren and other relatives and a large circle of friends. The body was taken to Geraldine where the funeral was held from the community church on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, and conducted by Rev. Dan W. Brown, pastor of the Christian church of this city. Burial was made in Geraldine cemetery. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in this their hour of bereavement.
