She has been working as a dispatcher at the Otoe County Sheriff's Office since 1983 and in recent years has served as the Chief Dispatcher. Karen was a former member of the O.J.R. Legal Secretaries Association and also had been serving on the Board of Directors of the G.A.R. Hall and Friends of the Library. She loved reading and was very interested in Civil War history. The Otoe County Sheriff's Office was her life and she made many friends in law enforcement over the years. Survivors include her sons, Richard E. Tilson, II of Omaha, NE; Michael G. Tilson and Christopher J. Tilson, both of Lincoln, NE; brothers, James Swenson and his wife Amy of Milton, KS and Dana Swenson of Lincoln, NE; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Tilson, I; son, Kirk Tilson and sister, Marie Swenson. Karen Tilson (#47072261) was a findagrave.com member.
