Description	:	The funeral service for Karen Tchida will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the First Lutheran Church of Britton. Rev. Terrill Sorensen will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Aberdeen under the direction of the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton. Karen passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at Marshall County Healthcare Center at the age of 62. Karen Jean (Nereim) Tchida was born October 13, 1958 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Orville and Fern (Sanderson) Nereim. She grew up in Claremont where she went to school through the 8th grade and her high school in Langford where she graduated in 1976. After high school she worked in Aberdeen for the South Dakota State Department until she got married on September 1, 1979 to Ronald Tchida. They lived in Rutland, ND from 1979 to 1991 and had two sons, Terry and Kevin. In 1991 they moved to Britton, SD where Ron worked at Horton. Karen loved watching her boys in their sports activities. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing with her husband. When she was not doing that, she liked having coffee with her friends and attending Bible study. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Britton and had served on the council and also helped the church ladies with their quilting group. Her pastimes included crocheting, quilting, Swedish weaving, embroidery, altering clothes for other people, doing puzzles and playing cards. Grateful for sharing her life with her husband, Ron; two sons: Terry (Breanna) of Britton; Kevin (Kirsten) of Fargo, ND; two sisters: Faye (Jeff) Stohr of Aberdeen; Kaye (Larry) Johnke of Irene, SD; nephews: Tim, Brock, Kendall, Bryce, Jacob and Trent; and a niece, Landra. Preceding her in death were her parents, Orville and Fern Nereim; maternal grandparents, Ivan and Jenny Sanderson; and paternal grandparents, Ole and Inga Nereim. The above obituary was written by Karen, a few years ago. She concluded it with the following: “I’m asking you God to make my reservation to be home with You when You’re ready for me.
