Description	:	Karen was born to Ted and Emma (Bock) Bunz and grew up in the Bennington, Nebraska area where she attended grade school and graduated from Bennington High School in 1971. Karen was active in sports all of her life including volley ball captain her senior year and softball and during her college years at Midland, she played on the Women's Basketball team. She was active in the school band, pep club, choir and was Valedictorian of her class. She was involved in 4-H and helped around the farm. Read More	Karen was born to Ted and Emma (Bock) Bunz and grew up in the Bennington, Nebraska area where she attended grade school and graduated from Bennington High School in 1971. Karen was active in sports all of her life including volley ball captain her senior year and softball and during her college years at Midland, she played on the Women's Basketball team. She was active in the school band, pep club, choir and was Valedictorian of her class. She was involved in 4-H and helped around the farm. She graduated from Midland College with Bachelor's Degree in Education and in Physical Education. Karen married John Ueberrhein on August 27-1983 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington, NE. and the were blessed with two boys. Karen worked as a teacher at Rising City and Gibbon Nebraska before getting married and raising her family. After the boys were older, Karen went back to teaching. First as a substitute, then full time before retiring in 2013 to be able to spend more time with her mother. Karen was a high school volley ball referee and coached basketball, volley ball, track and soccer. As a substitute she worked at Valley, Waterloo, and District #15, #23, #24, #41 country schools. Karen was a avid Husker fan, a talented photographer and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the United Faith Community Church in Valley, where she was director of Christian education and Vacation Bible School director and severed as president of the District #23 (Elm Tree) Country School. She was organized, detail oriented, patient, positive and determined. She was patriotic and held tight to her values of faith and family. Karen was always ready to help someone and put the needs of others before her own.
