She grew to womanhood in her native land, coming to America in the fall of 1885 to reside at Wisner. On April 3, 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew L. Rasmussen at West Point. Read More	Source: Stanton County News, Sept. 2, 1937 Karen Marie Jorgensen was born in Assensen, Denmark, on January 13, 1864, and passed away at her home here August 23, 1937, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 10 days. She grew to womanhood in her native land, coming to America in the fall of 1885 to reside at Wisner. On April 3, 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew L. Rasmussen at West Point. To this union were born five children, Matilda, Mrs. Peter Anderson, who preceded her mother in death in 1935; Albert of Norfolk; Henry and Chris of here; Martha, Mrs. Ed Rimovsky of St. Edward. During the early years of her married life, the deceased, together with her husband and family, resided on various farms in Cuming county. In 1900 she moved to a form north of Pilger, living there until 1917 when they moved to the present home, where she resided until her death. She was a member of the Danish Lutheran church. Mrs. Rasmussen was one of God's noblewomen, always willing and sympathetic, found fulfillment of her life's ambition in unselfish service and devotion to her family. A quiet, kind and unassuming person, she endeared herself to all who knew her. Despite her small stature and seeming frailty, she had enjoyed almost perfect health up until about eight weeks before her death. She is survived by her husband; 4 children, Albert, Henry, Chris and Martha; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, besides a host of friends and neighbors.
