Description	:	Mr. Karl C. “Bud” Gray, 98, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Sabillasville, MD, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the nursing home. Born August 5, 1922 in Lantz, MD, he was the son of the late Clyde I. and Edna I. (Eby) Gray. Mr. Gray attended Sabillasville Elementary School, graduated from Thurmont High School and also graduated from Strayers Business School. He and his wife of over 74 years, the late Ruth E. Read More	Mr. Karl C. “Bud” Gray, 98, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Sabillasville, MD, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the nursing home. Born August 5, 1922 in Lantz, MD, he was the son of the late Clyde I. and Edna I. (Eby) Gray. Mr. Gray attended Sabillasville Elementary School, graduated from Thurmont High School and also graduated from Strayers Business School. He and his wife of over 74 years, the late Ruth E. (Neff) Gray, were married on April 24, 1943 in St. John’s Church, Sabillasville, MD. Mrs. Gray died on November 30, 2017. Following graduation, Mr. Gray worked for several years in Baltimore, but then decided to come home. He bought a farm and lived in the Sabillasville area for the rest of his life. He loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and keyboard in 2 bands. He also enjoyed dancing, singing, and traveling. He is survived by two daughters, Sherry L. Englar and Maureen S. Lawler and her husband Donald both of Sabillasville; five grandsons, Todd Englar, Jeffrey Englar, James Englar, Jason Lawler, and Joshua Lawler; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Maeanna Gordon. Private graveside services will be held in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD with Chaplain Justin Isbister officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
