Mr Fischer had been in poor helath for some time. On retiring from the farm a few years ago he lived in Le Mars for some years and of late returned to the farm in Stanton township where he died at the home of his son Theodore Fischer. Carl Friedrich William Fischer was born February 7, 1862 in Brandenburg, Germany and when a youth emigrated to America to better his condition. Coming to Iowa he worked o na farm ner Charles city for a year and then came to Le Mars and lived in this vicinity since. He was married May 7, 1891 to Louise Sophia Held and three children were born to them, Lena, Theodore and Agnes. His wife and eldest daughter preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Theodore Fischer of Stanton township, and Mrs WA Seiler of Marshall, Minn and six grandchildren, two brothers Ferdiand Fischer of Le Mars and August Fischer, living in Germany, his twin sister living in Germany and a sister Mrs Amelia Ulrich of Chicago. Mr Fischer was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. After coming to this place he attened the Evangelical church and when in Le Mars transferred his membership to the German Methodist church. The funeral was held Monday afternoon in the Mauer chapel, Rev Basil Grimes of Stanton Evangelical church officiating and interment made in the Stanton Cemetery. Old neighbors were pallbearers, Charles Lentz, Charles Danne, Otto Weidauer, Henry Schultz, Paul Gaumnitz, and William Danne.
