Karl was born on Jan. 22, 1923, in Powell, Wyo., the son of Karl and Sophie Rimpe. Also my father was not a "Jr.". He never went by junior. Thank you. Contributor: Terrell Rimpe Coffey (49853791) Karl married Helen Susan Hatch, the love of his life, on Jan. 20, 1945. Karl and Susan recently celebrated 57 wonderful years together. After serving in the Navy, Karl returned to Billings and worked for Empire Heating and Cooling and Aldrich Lumber Co., and then started his own construction/remodeling business. Those who worked with Karl knew of his desire for perfection. Karl enjoyed fishing and golfing and never turned anyone down when asked to "tee it up" on the links. He was a member of Pryor Creek Golf Course and Laurel Golf Club. Karl's true passion in life was his woodworking. Nothing gave him more satisfaction than the ability to design and build one of his priceless bowls or vases. His excellent craftsmanship will be truly missed but never forgotten. Only his love of family and especially his grandchildren could surpass his enjoyment of his craft. Karl is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Scott and wife Lorrie; his daughter, Terell Coffey; his sister, Dorothy Kirby, all of Billings; his granddaughter, Alison (Tom) Heermance of Davis, Calif.; and two half-brothers, Dick Kober of Billings and Bill Kober of Laurel. Karl was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elizabeth; his brother, John; his grandson, Jason Rimpe; and his son-in-law, Wayne Coffey. Karl always cared more for the concerns and problems of his friends and family than he did of his own pain. Dad, you shall suffer no more. We will miss you dearly and will love you forever. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Horizon Hospice Home for the wonderful care given to Karl.
