CAROLINE POSUSTA DIES AT HOME OF SON AT AGE 84 Mrs. Carolina Posusta, who was the mother of Mrs. Ben Kremenak, of Clutier and of John Posusta, late of this place, and who was a resident many years of the Vining community, died unexpectedly Monday morning at the home of another son, Frank Posusta, five and one-half miles northwest of Toledo, with whom she had lately been making her home. She suffered a heart attack shortly after 3 a. m. and succumbed within fifteen minutes. She was 84 years old. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Frank Posusta home and at Holy Trinity church, southwest of Clutier, with the Rev. Father Anthony Chihak, of Vining, officiating. Music was furnished by members of the church choir. Burial was in Holy Trinity cemetery. Casket bearers, all grandsons of the decedent, were George Kremenak, of Clutier; George and William Posusta, Toledo; Alvin Posusta, Elberon; and Milo and Albin Posusta, Chelsea. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. John Urbanek and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bares and daughters, Norma, June and Lillian, all of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Posusta, whose maiden name was Caroline Kucera, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kucera and was born in Czecho-Slovakia, where she attended school. Her marriage to Frank Posusta took place at Tuckaver, Czecho-Slovakia, May 18, 1881. The couple cam e to America in 1905, living in Chicago for two years and then continuing west to Iowa, where they resided on farms in Tama county throughout the remainder of their lives. Mr. Posusta died October 31, 1931. Of late the widow has been making her home with her children. The small farm about two miles east of Vining where she formerly lived was sold only a few months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Posusta were the parents of six children, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Frances Urbanek, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Mary Kremenak, Clutier; Albert Posusta, Chelsea, John Posusta, Elberon; Jerry Posusta, of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Frank Posusta, of the Toledo-Garwin community. Mrs. Posusta was a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Mary’s church in Vining for many years, and more recently of Holy Trinity church. She also was a member of the Rosary Society.
