It seems that Mrs. Zimmerman was taken ill three weeks ago with influenza, and thereafter pneumonia developed. She was taken to the hospital on the 11th, and submitted to an operation the same evening to relieve the pressure of pus on one of her lungs. She rallied from the operation, but was unable to sustain the shock thereof in her weakened condition, and died a week thereafter. The deceased was a daughter of Harm and Maria Folkerts. She was born on what is known as the old Schoon farm in Wayne township, April 22, 1886. Therefore she would have been 37 years of age on her next birth anniversary. She was united in marriage to George Zimmermann, on March 27, 1906. There were no children born to this union. Both of her parents are now dead. She is survived by one brother, Herman Folkerts and by three half-sisters, Mrs. William Henrichs of Scotch Grove township, Mrs. Arend Balster of Scotch Grove, and Mrs. Alva Zimmermann of Monticello. She is also survived by her step-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hedden. The funeral services were held yesterday. Short services were held at the George Zimmerman home at 12 o’clock, and final services were held at Zion’s Lutheran church in Wayne township, at 12:30 o’clock. Both services were conducted by Rev. J. Willms, the pastor of the Wayne Lutheran church. Burial was had at the Wayne Center cemetery. It is of interest to note that the pallbearers at the funeral were all first cousins of the deceased. They were John Caspers, John Poppe, Tobe Poppe, William Folkers, Herman Husmann and William Wendt.
