He Had Been A Native Of Wayne Township During His Entire Life, His Birth Having Occurred January 2, 1883 Following a severe attack of pneumonia, Arend George Zimmerman passed away at the McDonald hospital last Friday afternoon, November 20. His death occurred at 2:15 p.m. Mr. Zimmerman had been in ill health for a short time and the attending physician determined it best to care for him at the hospital. He therefore entered it just a week before his death. The untimely death of this man is keenly felt by his relatives and many friends. He died in the prime of life when there was much to live for and when his wife and daughters had need of him. Born in Wayne Township. As a son of the late Arend Gerhard zimmermand and Anna Grumm Zimmerman, the subject of this sketch was born in Wayne Township, January 2, 1883. Soon after his birth he was baptized in the Lutheran faith and later was confirmed, April 3, 1808, at Zion's Lutheran church in Wayne township by Rev. C. Mardorf. The marriage of Mr. Zimmerman to Katharine Margaret Folkerts occurred March 27, 1906. Mrs. Zimmerman died February 27, 1906. Mr. Zimmerman remarried July 29, 1926 to Emma Aman. Two daughters were born to this union, viz: Margaret Ann and Dorie. Ill But a Week Due to the fact that Mr. Zimmerman was frail physically the attack of pneumonia proved a severe obstacle in his illness. He was given tender care by his wife and family. In addition to Mrs. Zimmerman and his daughters, he is survived by three brothers: William R and Herman of amber and John B Zimmerman of Monticello: and by four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Toenjes of amber, Mrs. Engeline Burrack and Mrs. Lizie Behrends of Monticello, and Mrs. Matilda Mardorf of amber. During his adult life, Mr. Zimmerman was an active and devoted member of Zion Lutheran church in Wayne township. He was a regular attendant at the services and did what he could to assist in its activities. Funeral services were held Monday, November 23, at the family home in Wayne township at one o'clock and at 1:30 in Zion Lutheran church. Both services were in charge of Mr. Zimmerman's pastor, Rev. J. Willms. Burial was made on the family lot in the cemetery adjoining the church. * * * * * * * * * * * *
