Description	:	Mrs. Katherine Ann Hatcher, resident of Glenwood for the past twenty-five years, passed away at St. Bernard's hospital, Council Bluffs, Saturday, April 26, 1919, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 13 days. When a small child she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Lingle, from the east to Missouri, where she resided until 1852, in which year she was married to Thomas Hatcher, and moved to Thurman, Ia. Read More	Mrs. Katherine Ann Hatcher, resident of Glenwood for the past twenty-five years, passed away at St. Bernard's hospital, Council Bluffs, Saturday, April 26, 1919, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 13 days. When a small child she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Lingle, from the east to Missouri, where she resided until 1852, in which year she was married to Thomas Hatcher, and moved to Thurman, Ia. In 1887 her husband died, leaving her with a family of several small children to care for, which she did bravely. Her life was not all sunshine as she had many hard trials to meet, but she always trusted in her Savior for help. In 1894 she moved with her children to Glenwood, where she, resided until about a year ago, when because of failing health she was taken to the hospital at Council Bluffs. Mrs. Hatcher was converted when seventeen years of age and joined the United Brethren church. After moving to Glenwood she united with the Holiness church and. remained true to her Savior, 'until the Lord called her home. The deceased leaves to mourn her departure eight children—five sons and three daughters.They are: John and Mrs. Sarah Shuffler of Pacific Junction; Benton of Council Bluffs; Clinton of Nebraska; Edward, David and Mrs. Edward Anderson of Glenwood,and Mrs. Jacob Kleln of Thurman. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers,a large number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure. Funeral services were conducted at Thurman Tuesday afternoon, April 29, at the M.E. church, by Elder L. B.Worcester of Tabor. The funeral sermon was preached from a text chosen by the deceased, Rev.21:4— "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away. Interment was made in the Tabor cemetery.
