Mrs. Schroeder is survived by her son, Eugene Schroeder, of Oyens,one brother, Michael Brucher, of Remsen, two sisters, Mrs. Magdaline Fiedler of Oyens and Mrs. Emil Forrette of Stayton, Oregon; also six grandchildren. The deceased was born at Holstem, Grand Dusche, Luxemburg, September 16, 1853, and in 1877 she was united in marriage to Nicholas Schroeder and immigrated to the United States in the same year, coming to Plymouth county and lived on a farm one-half mile west of Oyens. After the death of her husband she remained in the home for five years and in 1918 she moved to Remsen where she was a life-long member of the Catholic church. During her long life in this vicinity she won the respect of a large circle of friends as a good christian woman and a loving and kind mother. Those present from a distance were: Ed Brucher, of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Schroeder; Miss Elizabeth Schroeder, Peter Schroeder, all of Iona, Minn.: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Streff, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ruppert of Alton; Mrs. Henry Wisser and Miss Vivian Werth of Sioux City. The pallbearers were: John DeVishe and Barney Stoeber of Remsen, Frank Bortscheller, Henry Meis, John Wurth and Mike Goetzinger of Oyens.
