(Wilson) Harrison passed peacefully into her heavenly Father's arms at the age of 101. She passed away November 11, 2015 in her La Center home, a farm originally acquired by her grandparents, August and M. Francis (Cook) Schubel, in 1911 in LaCenter, Washington. Katherine was born to parents John E. Wilson and Nina Vera (Schubel) Wilson in La Center, WAashington on August 14, 1914, joining her brother Thomas Wilson, born 1912. She graduated Valedictorian of La Center High School in LaCenter, Washington at the age of 16 in 1931. She married Lester William Harrison, and together they raised a family of five children. Katherine enjoyed a love of music, serving faithfully as the organist and worship musician for Highland Lutheran Church in LaCenter, Washington for twenty-nine years, and was active in the community as a 4-H leader and member of the La Center Fair and Jamboree committee. She enjoyed gardening, farming and taking care of her grandchildren, spending time with them on the farm and teaching them to be good stewards of the land. She avidly followed the Trailblazers and the Mariners by radio. Katherine is survived by her children Keith Harrison, Lowell Harrison, Jill Weiss and Joan Parsons, and by her fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester, and their daughter, Pamela Jean Keto. A family graveside service was on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Mt. Zion cemetery in La Center to be followed by a Celebration of Life at Highland Lutheran Church with a luncheon provided after the service, both in LaCenter, Washington. The family suggests a gift to the La Center School District for the Katherine Wilson Harrison Music Scholarship, or to the Highland Lutheran Church, both in LaCenter, Washington.
