Read More	Katherine Mohr Died Sunday at Kirksville Katherine Nickels Mohr, the daughter of Wilhelmina and John Nickels, was born December 1, 1891, near Burlington, Iowa. She departed this life Sunday, October 26, at 9:15 p.m. at the New Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri. At an early age, she moved with her parents to the Hazel Hill community in Scotland County, Missouri. She spent her entire life in that community. Katie, as she was known, was a kind mother, a devoted wife, and a loving grandmother. She was happiest when helping others, not only in the family, but the community and the church. As a young lady, she united with the Etna Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member. On March 1, 1911, she was united in marriage to Otto Carl Mohr, who passed away November 23, 1959. To this union were born three sons, Robert, Willard, and Donald. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Lela Smith; and one brother, Milton Nickels. She is survived by three sons; two daughters-in-law, Claudean and Dorothy; and five grandchildren, Alan and Stanley Mohr, Freda Bumgarner, Willadean Walker, and Dixie Lee Dalbey, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by one brother, Russell Nickels, two great granddaughters, Teresa and Evelyn Walker, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and many other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her. The funeral was held Wednesday, October 29, 1969, at the Etna Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. The services were conducted by Rev. Barbara Barnett, and Rev. John O. Gooch. Burial was in Etna Cemetery. Those acting as pallbearers were Raymond Parker, Harry Callahan, Alva Lancaster, Karl Jr. Kraus, Leo Cone, and Alva Sears.
