Description	:	Katherine Dekker, 85, of Sioux Center died Friday, August 4, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A memorial service was Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Reverend Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. Katherine (Niessink) Dekker was born at Sioux Center on February 3, 1921, to Peter and Anna (Schaap) Niessink. She was raised and educated in Sioux Center. On November 29, 1950, she married Frank Dekker in Rock Valley. The couple farmed in northwest Iowa near Sheldon, Doon and Orange City and later settled in Sioux Center. He died October 2, 1990. She was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. She created many needlepoint items and quilts over the years for family and friends. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Deborah Dekker of Urbandale and daughter and son-in-law, Arliss Dekker and Paul Snider of Madrid; three grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Lubbert and Tena Niessink of Rock Rapids; and brother-in-law, Marvin Kamrath and his wife Glenda of Sheldon. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ceceilia Kamrath. The Dekker Family prefers memorials to the First Reformed Church Bus Fund. Sioux Center News 2006-08-09.
